Interestingly, “Adipurush” debuted on streaming platforms like Netflix and Prime Video, providing an unexpected challenge to “Gadar 2.” Despite this, “Gadar 2” is confronting competition from films like “OMG 2” starring Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth’s “Jailer.” While “Jailer” is primarily targeting the South Indian audience, “Gadar 2” has set its sights on the northern regions. Additionally, “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” has already enjoyed two successful weeks in theaters, contributing to the mix.

Bollywood Hungama predicts that “Gadar 2” could potentially amass around Rs 120 crore in its opening weekend and about Rs 175 crore during the extended Independence Day holiday weekend. The film has reportedly broken records at various single-screen theaters in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, and Gujarat, although its performance in Punjab and West Bengal could have been stronger.

Directed by Anil Sharma, the film features Utkarsh Sharma and Ameesha Patel alongside Sunny Deol. The prequel, “Gadar,” released in 2001, was a massive hit, grossing over Rs 130 crore worldwide.
